Little Wrappers’ Story:

Little Wrappers is a family owned and operated business located just outside of Edmonton in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada.

Little Wrappers came to be after our third baby came along, when we couldn’t find the right product to keep him warm when we were outside but not sweating when he was in the car or in the store.

Everything we found was too hot or too cold, but none was just right. Fiddling with elastics, Velcro and zippers grew old quickly, especially when in a hurry to get our bigger kids out the door and to school on time. So, we put our heads together to see what we could come up with. We thought of all of the little things that made going out with baby in tow a little easier. Not having to pack a blanket, a nursing cover, and a pile of toys that were going to eventually find their way onto the car floor or the ground. It had to be stylish, practical and most of all fun. Baby products should be fun to seen with, easy to use and most of all durable and washable. The first Little Wrapper was made late one night when the kids were tucked in their beds. The next day, we tried it out and loved how it worked and how easy it was to bundle and unbundle our little guy in a cinch.

Soon, friends and family started asking us to make them Little Wrappers as gifts and people were always stopping to ask us about them. Little Wrappers started to grow and we quickly started to sell them at markets, fairs and baby boutiques. We’ve finally decided to open an on line store to make them easily accessible to anyone, anywhere!

Nathalie: Mama designer and engineer, patent nerd, charge of sales, marketing, and decision making.

Proud mama of 3 beautiful boys and finally chasing my dreams of working from home while being there to watch my boys grow. I like teaching the boys to be business savy. I love having boys, they keep me busy, they keep me young and as the old saying goes, they teach me what life is about.

Johan (AKA Craft Grandma): Fabric and textiles pro, production supervisor and great with public relations.

My mom is a big part of the business and we couldn’t have done it without all of her help. She sews a lot and has a meticulous attention to detail. She’s great with fabric and patterns so she also does a lot of work with our distributors. Our mom and daughter shopping team can almost certainly be found out and about looking for the coolest and trendiest fabrics that we can get our hands on.

Connor: Product tester, critic, and Little Wrappers’ “model”

Meet Connor, he’s the chubby little guy you see, well, everywhere for Little Wrappers! He’s been bundled, unbundled, propped and photographed day after day and he always sports a good smile for us. He does get most of the credit for Little Wrappers, since he was the inspiration behind it all. Connor was born a few weeks early and keeping him warm in his early days was a challenge. He loved to be swaddled tight in the car when he was sleeping and when he was awake he loved to throw toys on the car floor. He gave his mama many good ideas for our design, including the idea to add the toy loop to keep his toy friends close by. Connor is the baby of the family and we all are pretty head over heels for the little guy.

The bigger boys: Nolan and Ben, our “youth employees”, they help with packaging and small jobs here and there.

Nolan is my business savy guy who likes to think business and is always trying to come up with ways to make money. He’s going to be a good little entrepreneur one day and likes to help out with the small jobs. He’s good with tape and stickers and is a hard little worker. Ben is my laid back cuddly kid. He’s got a good heart and likes to help others. He takes a big interest in trying to understand how web sales work. I think he’ll be my techy guy one day.

Last but super important: Ryan – Webmaster, best friend, business partner, amazing daddy, oh, and saves lives on the side.

What’s better than getting to work from home and watch your kids grow? Getting to do it all your best friend in the world just a few feet away. We like to start our day with a nice run by the lake with the boys on their bikes and talk business while we’re out clearing our heads and planning our day and our goals. We spend many hours working just a few feet apart and take turns spending time with the boys while so the other can work. Ryan works in the hospital helping people as a Respiratory Therapist. He helps people of all ages, from tiny premature babies, to crazy stories from the Trauma Room. He then comes home and juggles life with 3 growing boys, managing all my tech stuff on top of his own computer projects on the side… and he makes it all look way too easy.

So, there you have it, the Little Wrappers inspiration, story and team.
